Maidenhead Heritage Shop
The history of Maidenhead stretches from before the
Romans to racing cars, aeroplanes, Hammer Horror films and scandals
at Cliveden. The town grew up when the first bridge was built
across the Thames in 1250 and became a Victorian boom town when the
Great Western Railway opened.
Maidenhead Heritage Centre is just the place to explore this
amazingly varied history, with a permanent "Story of Maidenhead"
exhibition supplemented by five free exhibitions a year in our
Sammes Gallery. Join us in the school holidays for exciting family
